Food Manufacturing | FMCG | Days (Monday–Friday)

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established food manufacturing business that forms part of a wider group. This is a key role within the Maintenance and Engineering department, with responsibility for leading the site’s OT and automation agenda.

This is a day shift position, Monday to Friday, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to influence automation, cybersecurity, and system reliability in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

The Role

You will take ownership of the site’s OT hardware and software landscape, supporting production and logistics operations and ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and reliable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership and maintenance of OT and automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, servers, networks, and associated infrastructure

  • Leading planned and predictive maintenance strategies for automation assets

  • Acting as Cybersecurity Owner for OT manufacturing processes

  • Identifying, monitoring, and mitigating cyber risks in line with company policy

  • Managing asset inventories, backups, restores, system documentation, and obsolescence planning

  • Providing technical support for automation, IT/OT, and continuous improvement projects

  • Acting as SPOC for external OT/IT service providers

  • Supporting training, root cause analysis, and technical development within the engineering team

  • Reporting OT KPIs, incidents, and project progress to site and group stakeholders

    About You

  • Degree qualified in IT, Automation, or similar (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an OT / automation role within food or FMCG manufacturing

  • Strong understanding of OT and IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and industrial networks

  • Experience with PLC-controlled and automated production equipment

  • Structured, methodical approach to change management and documentation

  • Confident communicator, comfortable working across engineering, operations, and corporate teams

    Experience within high-care food manufacturing or complex automated environments would be advantageous.
