Job Description:

Main duties and responsibilities

De Montfort University (DMU) is a forward-thinking institution committed to innovation, inclusion and excellent digital services. Following significant progress through its Digital Transformation Strategy, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to ongoing improvements that support students and staff across a modern, ambitious and evolving university community.

Directorate

The Digital and Technology Directorate plays a central role in transforming how the university delivers digital value. We are modernising our services through cloud adoption, reducing technical debt and developing a product-focused operating model.

Our approach combines agile delivery with operational excellence, ensuring our services are resilient, secure and user focused. From AI and automation to collaboration, communications and cyber security, the Directorate is focused on delivering streamlined and future-ready services that support academic and professional excellence across DMU.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and technically capable M365 Analyst to support, improve and develop the university's Microsoft 365 collaboration, communication and digital workplace services.

This is a hands-on role that will help shape the digital experience of our students and staff. You will work with senior colleagues and cross-functional teams to support secure, reliable and user-centred Microsoft 365 services, while contributing to DMU’s transformation towards a modern digital workplace.

You will support and enhance services across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including collaboration and communication tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online and telephony services. The role also involves working with Microsoft Forms, Approvals, Bookings, Viva, Power Automate, the wider Power Platform, Microsoft Entra ID, security, governance and compliance solutions, and emerging AI technologies including Microsoft Copilot.

Team Structure

You will report to the Productivity and Collaboration Lead and work alongside colleagues supporting Microsoft 365, collaboration, communication and digital workplace services. You will also collaborate with Product teams, Information Security, technical specialists, key suppliers and stakeholders from across the university.

The team supports collaboration, communication, automation and AI capabilities across the university and plays a key role in delivering DMU's digital transformation strategy. We promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and professional development, providing opportunities to build expertise across Microsoft 365, automation, AI and modern workplace technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

This role supports and enhances Microsoft 365 services across the university, including SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams Telephony. It involves implementing secure, user-centred solutions, supporting governance and compliance initiatives, contributing to service improvements and digital transformation projects, and working with stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital services while improving adoption, performance and user experience.

About You

You will have experience supporting and developing Microsoft 365 services within a large organisation, with strong knowledge of technologies including Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Viva, Teams Telephony, Entra ID, Power Platform and Microsoft Copilot. You will also bring experience in security, compliance and governance, alongside strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills, with a focus on digital transformation and continuous improvement.

Contact

This role is hybrid, with an on-campus presence required for at least two days per week.
