The client is looking for a coreSystems Administrator at heart—someone who understands the kernel, OS internals, and core networking—but wants to use a massive£95k budget to deploy cutting-edge automation. Rather than hiring a pure software developer, they want an infrastructure professional to spearhead their modern toolkit.
What you’ll be doing:
- Enterprise Linux Engineering: Take ownership of the security, performance, and scalability of an enterprise-grade RedHat/RHEL and Rocky Linux estate.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code: UseTerraform andAnsible to design, automate, and orchestrate server provisioning and configuration management across the board.
- Scale Container Platforms: Help manage, scale, and modernise their enterprise container environments usingKubernetes andRed Hat OpenShift.
- Bridge to DevOps: Act as the ultimate bridge between traditional, robust infrastructure and modern DevOps pipelines, ensuring maximum uptime and automated efficiency.
What we are looking for:
- Deep Linux Administration: A heavy, multi-year background in enterprise Linux administration, with strong exposure to RHEL, CentOS, or Rocky Linux platforms.
- Automation Mastery: Practical experience usingAnsible andTerraform to turn manual infrastructure processes into clean, automated code.
- Container Exposure: Strong familiarity with or a desire to deeply masterKubernetes orOpenShift.
- The SysAdmin Mindset: High proficiency in shell scripting (Bash/Python) with a focus on deep infrastructure stability, troubleshooting, and systems optimization.
