Junior Legal Counsel - Remote or working

The role is designed for a developing legal professional looking to broaden their experience and take on increasing ownership of legal matters within a fast moving SaaS environment.

Description

• Commercial Contracting

  • Draft, review and negotiate customer, supplier, partnership, reseller, contractor and non disclosure agreements
  • Support contract negotiations and manage agreements through to execution
  • Review contractual risks and identify matters requiring escalation
  • Support contract renewals, amendments and terminations
  • Maintain and update contract templates and standard terms

  Data Protection & Privacy

  • Review and negotiate Data Processing Agreements and related privacy documentation within customer and supplier contracts
  • Support Data Protection Impact Assessments and privacy reviews
  • Respond to customer and internal data protection queries
  • Assist with data subject rights requests and privacy related processes
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments in privacy and data protection

  Legal Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for routine legal queries
  • Provide practical and accessible legal guidance to business stakeholders
  • Support investigations into contractual disputes, complaints and legal issues
  • Undertake legal research and prepare summaries and recommendations
  • Provide legal input into public sector tenders and procurement processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with regulatory requirements

  Information Security & Customer Assurance

  • Support responses to customer due diligence, legal questionnaires and security reviews
  • Assist with the contractual aspects of information security and cyber security matters
  • Work closely with internal compliance and security stakeholders where legal input is required

  Legal Operations

  • Maintain legal documentation, playbooks and guidance materials
  • Help improve legal processes, workflows and reporting
  • Contribute to the use of AI and technology within the legal function
  • Support strategic legal projects led by the Head of Legal & Compliance
    

Profile

• A legal degree or qualification from either the UK or other jurisdiction.
• 2 to 3 years experience handling commercial contracts.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, with a track record of personally drafting and negotiating agreements rather than simply supporting on transactions
• Understanding of UK GDPR and data protection principles, applied in a commercial or contracts context

Job Offer

• Salary between £45,000 and £55,000, dependent on the level of experience.
• Remote working - Ideally could visit the offices once a month in Bournemouth or Bristol
• Hybrid working also on offer
