IT Support Technician (1st & 2nd Line / Networking) — Temp Contract until Christmas

Location: Berkshire (Based at BCA, with travel between all 4 campuses)
Duration: Temporary, until Christmas 2025 (with possibility of extension)
Hours: Full‑time
Pay: £15‑£20 per hour (PAYE), depending on experience; plus 45p per mile for travel between sites
  
About the College
A further education college that is part of the Windsor Forest Colleges Group (which includes BCA) has recently been rated Good by Ofsted.
We are seeking an experienced 2nd Line / Networking Technician to join the IT team on a temporary basis, supporting across all four campuses.
  
What You’ll Be Doing

Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support, including networking tasks, across all campuses — hardware, software, connectivity.
Maintain IT/AV/printing devices: PCs (Windows 10 & 11), iOS, Android, Chrome OS; printers; servers running Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022; Microsoft 365 environment.
Install, test, configure, maintain both hardware and software components.
Troubleshoot network issues, ensure resilience and reliability of services.
Assist in maintaining cybersecurity practices and ensuring compliance.
Travel between sites as needed (you will be based mainly at BCA).   
Who We’re Looking For

Substantial experience in a 2nd line support / networking role.
Qualifications: Level 3 in IT‑related subject; additional qualifications (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco) are a strong plus.
Familiarity with latest operating systems: Windows 10 & 11; also iOS, Android, Chrome OS.
Experience with Windows Servers (2016, 2019, 2022) and Microsoft 365.
Confident understanding of networking fundamentals and cybersecurity best practices.
Reliable, able to work independently, and willing to travel between campuses.   
What We Offer

Competitive hourly rate: £15‑20/hr (depending on experience)
45p per mile travel expenses for travel between sites
Opportunity to work in a supportive FE college environment, gaining experience and potentially extending the role beyond Christmas
