Are you an experienced, hands-on IT professional ready to lead the technology strategy for a dynamic manufacturing business?
A growing manufacturing company in Newcastle upon Tyne require an IT Manager to oversee all technology across all operations.
This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic oversight and day-to-day technical expertise.
What You’ll Be Doing:
· Manage, maintain, and ensure the 24/7 reliability of all networks, servers, cloud services, and hardware.
· Develop the long-term IT roadmap, manage the annual IT budget, and oversee vendor and contract relationships.
· Lead the IT helpdesk function and manage the asset lifecycle.
· Explore AI-driven Quality Control or Demand Forecasting applications.
· Develop, implement, and enforce a robust cybersecurity strategy (firewalls, patching, backups) to protect sensitive company and intellectual property data.
· Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
· Design, document, and regularly test comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
· Provide expert support for some manufacturing system , ensuring seamless data flow and maximum uptime on the factory floor.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
· Previous experience in an IT management or senior systems role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
· Strong knowledge of Windows Server and virtualisation technologies
· Expertise in managing LAN/WAN networking, firewalls, and VPNs
· Proven experience supporting and integrating manufacturing-specific applications (e.g., ERP systems like SAP Business One, Sage, or equivalent).
· Knowledge of UK data compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR)
