Synapri are partnered with a growing Software business who are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing team of 10. This role will focus on maintaining and evolving their on-premise server and network architecture, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across there global infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in automating and streamlining operations, supporting their development and architecture teams, and helping to shape the future of their internal systems and tooling. Salary: £65,000 plus benefits

Location: Remote with Adhoc travel to London

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the client’s on-premise server and network infrastructure, keeping systems running smoothly and managing hardware maintenance or replacements as needed

  • Collaborate closely with the Development team to support seamless releases to staging and production environments

  • Work alongside the Architecture team to provide guidance on system design, technology choices, and best practices

  • Build, maintain, and improve scripts and tools that support the lifecycle of internal systems, including automating deployments, patching, updates, and implementing robust monitoring and logging

  • Partner with the Infrastructure team to deliver tooling for shared systems, such as databases, build and deployment platforms, and containerised environments

  • Champion security best practices and ensure compliance with company policies, including information security and acceptable use standards

  • Take on additional responsibilities as they arise, contributing to the success of the team and broader organisation

    Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience of working within an Infrastructure/Support role (ideally 2+ years as a minimum)

  • Proven scripting/development experience (Python, Ruby, or Bash)

  • Hands-on experience with orchestration, automation, and configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform.

  • Strong troubleshooting and system administration skills (Linux or FreeBSD)

  • Practical knowledge of:

    • Databases: SQL and/or NoSQL

    • Networking: TCP/IP, subnetting/VLANs, firewalling, and routing principles

    • Message Queues: RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
