Are you an experienced HGV Technician seeking a stable and rewarding opportunity? Our client, a reputable family-run recycling and transport company based in Milton Keynes, is actively looking to recruit a dedicated HGV Technician to join their workshop team. This is an excellent chance to work for a well-established business that values skilled technicians committed to delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Benefits:

Up to £22 per hour, depending on experience
Monday to Friday working hours, 7:00am – 5:00pm
Occasional Saturday mornings, paid at 1.5x
IRTEC qualification funded
HGV licence training provided

Modern workshop facilities, including vehicle lifts, pits, and brake rollers
Opportunity to focus exclusively on the company’s fleet, with no customer pressure

Autonomous working conditions, fostering professional growthDuties:

Conducting six-weekly inspections as part of vehicle maintenance schedules
Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and compliance
Performing general servicing and repairs on a varied fleet
Diagnosing mechanical and technical issues efficiently
Ensuring all vehicles adhere to high safety and quality standards
Managing workload independently, including parts procurement
Maintaining accurate documentation of vehicle repairs and service historyRequirements:

Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
At least 5 years’ proven workshop experience working on HGVs or similar commercial vehicles
Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills
A valid Class 1 or Class 2 licence is advantageous; training can be provided
Experience working on construction or specialist vehicles is beneficial but not essential
