The company:

Our client is a global leader in cybercrime detection and disruption. They are a trusted partner for some of the largest companies in the world, including some of the largest banks, and five country governments.

The role:

They are looking for a driven and curious Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing team. As an SDR, you will be on the front lines of our commercial growth, identifying and engaging prospective clients, qualifying leads, and setting the stage for high-value sales conversations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the cybersecurity industry and develop your career in enterprise sales.

Day to day, this is what you’ll be doing:

  • Research, identify, and prospect into ideal customer profiles across key industries (e.g., financial services, e-commerce, government).

  • Generate qualified sales opportunities through outbound emails, calls, LinkedIn, and events/webinars.

  • Engage with inbound leads from marketing campaigns and qualify them according to ICP and sales criteria.

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach and lead qualification activities in the Salesforce.

  • Book discovery meetings for Account Executives and support them with background research and context.

  • Collaborate with marketing to provide feedback on campaign performance and market signals.

  • Stay up to date on cybersecurity trends, threat intelligence, and The clients products and value proposition.

    You’ll need:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a sales or business development role, ideally in B2B SaaS or cybersecurity.

  • Experience selling into large enterprises or public sector organisations.

  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and personalise outreach.

  • Comfortable using CRM tools and sales enablement platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).

  • High level of self-motivation and ability to manage time effectively.

  • Resilient, coachable, and results-driven mindset with an interest in cybersecurity.

  • Successful track record in meeting and exceeding goals.

  • Ability to easily understand and pitch new services, focusing on value proposition.

  • Knowledge of sales qualification methodologies (e.g., MEDDPIC).

A computer science degree or similar discipline would be very helpful

Where to Advertise Cyber Security Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising cyber security jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, heavily vetted and in high demand across government, financial services, critical national infrastructure and the private sector simultaneously. Many of the strongest candidates hold active security clearances, are not actively job-searching through general platforms, and move primarily through specialist networks and trusted referrals. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that security professionals expect. Specialist platforms, government-affiliated channels and cleared candidate networks each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by CybersecurityJobs.tech, covers where to advertise cyber security roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

If you are considering a career in this field—or looking to advance within it—it is essential to understand what employers are really looking for in 2026. This guide breaks down the current expectations, required skills, certifications, and practical experience that can help you stand out in a competitive job market.
