Data Scientist Specialist (MLOps & GenAI)

Due to the nature of these programmes,only candidates holding active UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance can be considered for this role.

This opportunity sits at the forefront ofMLOps, machine learning, and GenAI, working within a specialist team delivering high-impact solutions in complex, high-assurance environments. The position combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, supporting the design, deployment, and optimisation of advanced AI systems.

You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Work on cutting-edgeGenAI and machine learning solutions
  • Build and deployLLMs and ML models across cloud and HPC environments
  • Take ownership of technical delivery within projects
  • Act as a go-to specialist for machine learning and AI engineering
  • Contribute to innovation across AI tools, techniques, and delivery
  • Support and mentor engineers within a collaborative team
Your Responsibilities
  • Lead technical delivery across machine learning and MLOps engagements
  • Design, build, and deployML models and LLM-based solutions
  • Develop and optimise pipelines for model training and deployment
  • Work across cloud and high-performance computing environments
  • Act as a subject matter expert across AI and machine learning
  • Support junior engineers and contribute to team capability development
  • Contribute to internal innovation and continuous improvement
Key Requirements
  • Strong programming capability inPython
  • Experience building and deployingmachine learning models and pipelines
  • Experience withcloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred)
  • Practical experience withDocker, Linux/Unix CLI, Git, and testing
  • Understanding of modern AI approaches, including:
  • Agentic AI systems
  • RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
  • Graph-based approaches
  • Computer vision, audio, or multimodal models
  • Knowledge ofdata governance and security best practices
  • Strong communication and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
