Cyber Security Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to take an instrumental role in a Northampton-based firm, offering a hybrid work environment (circa 3 days in the office) and a salary of up to £60,000 depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ practical cybersecurity experience within enterprise environments. To be considered for this position, you will need solid hands-on skills with:

• cloud, endpoint, or infrastructure security
• identity and access management, multifactor authentication, privileged access, and zero-trust principles
• managing Windows endpoints through modern device management platforms and implementing endpoint detection and response technologies
• cloud security fundamentals, including configuration, data protection, and security monitoring

Ideal candidates will also have

• Ability to assess vulnerabilities, lead remediation efforts, and investigate security incidents effectively.
• Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to translate complex issues into understandable reports.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Experience working with external security providers, vulnerability management platforms, and SaaS security.
• Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST CSF, along with relevant professional certifications

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing security controls across identity, endpoint, cloud, and application in enterprise technology environments.

Based on the outskirts of Northampton, my client is paying up to £60,000 + up to 15% bonus. This is a hybrid role of circa 3 days in the office and circa 2 days working from home. As my client is on the outskirts of Northampton, you will need your own transport to reach their office.
