Cyber Security Engineer – Kent – £50,000 + Excellent benefits & career development

Position Overview:

My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding their clients' information systems, ensuring the highest level of security and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyse security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Implement and maintain security protocols, policies, and procedures.

Conduct regular security assessments and audits.

Develop and enforce security strategies to protect sensitive data.

Respond to security incidents and provide thorough analysis and reports.

Stay up to date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats.

Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure the integration of security best practices.

Provide security training and awareness programs.

Respond to customers’ tickets, providing assistance with security related issues efficiently and effectively.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging security threats to provide valuable insights and recommendations.

Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive client relationship.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in an IT Helpdesk/IT Support, SOC or related role is essential with the ability to handle and prioritise tickets and issues.

Strong knowledge of the Cyber Essentials, NIST and ISO 27001 framework.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 & Microsoft Azure security features.

Strong knowledge of Firewalls, Network Security and Endpoint Security.

Experience with EDR Solutions.

Knowledge of Mac operating systems.

Knowledge of Linux operating systems.

Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.

Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or other related technical discipline desirable.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for on-site visits.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to influence.

Passionate about security and networks.

Package:

£37,500 - £50,000 depending on skills & experience

Overtime available

20 days holiday (increasing each year to 25 days) plus bank holidays
