Cyber Security and Compliance Specialist

Robert Half is excited to be partnering exclusively with a technology focused business in Kidlington in their search for a Cyber Security Specialist to join their expanding IT function. This is a permanent role, paying up to £65,000 with hybrid working. This is a fantastic opportunity to become the first dedicated Cyber Security specialist within the business, giving you the chance to shape security strategy, implement new technologies and play a key role in building a security function.

The Role

This is a varied position combining hands-on technical security with information security governance and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Taking ownership of the organisation's cyber security posture.
• Monitoring security risks and proactively identifying vulnerabilities.
• Review M365, Entra ID, endpoint security, and other security alerts
• Carrying out risk and security assessments for new technologies, projects and business initiatives.
• Supporting Information Security compliance in line with UK standards and regulations.
• Assisting with Cyber Essentials and wider security governance activities.
• Recommending, implementing and improving security tools, controls and processes.
• Working on Microsoft security projects, including identity and access management improvements.
• Collaborating with technical teams to ensure security is embedded across infrastructure and development.
• Delivering security awareness training and promoting best practice across the business.
• Advising stakeholders on security risks and recommending practical solutions.

About You

We're looking for someone with a solid technical background who also enjoys the governance and compliance side of cyber security.

You'll ideally have experience with:

• Cyber Security and Information Security.
• Information Security Compliance / GRC.
• Cyber Essentials.
• Microsoft Windows Server.
• Microsoft Azure.
• Linux environments.
• Risk assessments and vulnerability management.
• Identity & Access Management.

Desirable Experience

• ISO 27001
• Experience implementing cyber security tools and technologies.
• Experience supporting environments of approximately 400+ users

• Salary up to £65,000 plus benefits
• Hybrid working - average of 2 days a week in Kidlington plus ad-hoc travel to client sites
