We’re seeking an experienced Control Systems Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of electrical and control systems projects. Covering design coordination, panel build, PLC/SCADA integration, FAT/SAT, installation, and commissioning.

You will manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and right‑first‑time delivery.

Typical projects include generator control systems, switchgear and MCCs, ATS/AMF panels, PLC/SCADA (e.g., Siemens/Allen‑Bradley/Schneider), synchronisation/load sharing, UPS integrations, and associated LV power and instrumentation. Experience working on UK electrical projects is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership | Lead the full lifecycle from bid handover through design, build, test, install, commission, and client handover.

Planning | Build and manage programmes (MS Project/Planner), cost plans, margins, change logs, risk registers, and cash flow forecasts.

Technical Coordination | Oversee electrical design, panel build, PLC/SCADA, and site teams. Review drawings (SLDs, GA, schematics) and I/O lists.

Commercial & Contracts | Manage contract obligations, variations, optioneering, purchase orders, subcontracts, and valuations.

Quality & Testing | Plan and run FAT/SAT, develop commissioning plans and method statements, and assure technical documentation and close-out packs (O&M, as-built).

H&S & Compliance | Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, RAMS, permits to work, site inductions, and relevant electrical standards (e.g., BS 7671).

Stakeholder Management | Act as primary client contact, run coordination meetings, manage expectations and reporting cadence.

Continuous Improvement | Standardise templates, checklists, and lessons learned to improve delivery effectiveness.

Required Experience

5–10 years delivering projects in the UK (power generation, data centres, utilities, industrial automation, critical infrastructure).

Proven delivery of projects involving PLC/SCADA (Siemens TIA/Step7, Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, Schneider), control panels/MCCs, instrumentation, and industrial comms (Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, Ethernet/IP).

Hands-on experience planning and executing FAT/SAT and site commissioning with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Competent reading/marking up EPLAN/AutoCAD drawings and single line diagrams; familiarity with IEC 61131‑3 concepts.

Strong grasp of CDM 2015, RAMS, permits, and site practice. Able to manage subcontractors safely and effectively.

Client‑facing communication, progress reporting, and change/claims management.

Qualifications & Certifications (Desired)

Degree or HND in Electrical/Control/Automation Engineering (or equivalent experience).

PM certification desirable: APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or PMP.

18th Edition (BS 7671) desirable; ECS/CSCS and SMSTS/SSSTS advantageous.

Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel to sites.

Awareness of functional safety (IEC 61508/61511) and industrial cybersecurity (IEC 62443) is a plus.

Skills & Tools

Project scheduling and cost control (e.g., MS Project, Excel), risk and change management.

Strong technical coordination across design, panel build, software, and site installation/commissioning.

Excellent stakeholder management, written reporting, and presentation skills.

Proficient with Microsoft 365, SharePoint/Teams; comfortable with structured document control.

Proficient with Project management software, MS Project/Panner, ACC, construction software.

Practical understanding of electrical installation/commissioning in live environments and critical facilities.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

Deliver assigned projects on time, within budget, and to specification, with positive client feedback.

Establish standardised commissioning plans, FAT/SAT checklists, and close‑out templates across the controls portfolio.

Improve reporting cadence (weekly lookahead, risk/cost dashboards) and reduce open snag items at practical completion.

Benefits

Competitive salary £55,000–£65,000

Company pension, Private Healthcare; 25 days’ holiday & bank holidays.

Company laptop & mobile phone.

Training & certification support (APM/PRINCE2/18th Edition/Siemens/Allen‑Bradley).

Where to Advertise Cyber Security Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise cyber security jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, communities and channels that reach offensive, defensive and GRC security talent. The candidate pool is small, heavily vetted and in high demand across government, financial services, critical national infrastructure and the private sector simultaneously. Many of the strongest candidates hold active security clearances, are not actively job-searching through general platforms, and move primarily through specialist networks and trusted referrals. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that security professionals expect. Specialist platforms, government-affiliated channels and cleared candidate networks each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by CybersecurityJobs.tech, covers where to advertise cyber security roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Cyber Security Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Cyber Security Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the threat intelligence, cloud security and zero-trust hiring trends shaping UK cyber careers. Cyber security is one of the few sectors where demand for talent has never once dipped. Every major technological shift of the past decade — cloud migration, remote working, AI adoption, the proliferation of connected devices — has expanded the attack surface that security professionals are expected to defend. And every expansion of that attack surface has generated more jobs. But the cyber security jobs market of 2026 is not simply a larger version of what it was three years ago. It is a structurally different market. The threats have evolved, the technologies used to combat them have changed, the regulatory environment has tightened considerably, and the roles being created reflect all of that. A job seeker who understands only the cyber security landscape of 2023 is already working with an outdated map. The candidates who will thrive over the next three years are those who understand where the sector is heading — which specialisms are attracting the most investment, which technologies are reshaping defensive and offensive security practice, and how the definition of a cyber security professional is broadening well beyond the traditional image of a network defender in a SOC. This article breaks down what the UK cyber security jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the curve.
