About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to support and develop our IT platforms and services across cloud and end-user environments. This role combines hands-on responsibility for day-to-day IT operations with opportunities to contribute to the ongoing improvement of our cloud platform and security posture.

You will play a key role in maintaining reliable, well-run systems across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, while also supporting colleagues with laptops, devices, printers, and general IT enquiries. Alongside this, you will contribute to the continued operation of our Cyber Essentials certification and support the organisation’s journey towards ISO 27001, helping embed strong security and operational practices as the business continues to mature.

This is a practical, varied role suited to someone who enjoys being close to both the technology and its users, while developing broader skills across cloud, infrastructure, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and support end-user IT services, including:

* Laptop and device provisioning and configuration

* User accounts and access management

* Printers and peripheral devices

* Responding to day-to-day IT support requests

Assist with the configuration and operation of Entra ID (Azure AD), including user lifecycle management, groups, and Conditional Access policies.

Support, administer, and improve Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

Help ensure systems are reliable, recoverable, and appropriately documented.

Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.

Support the implementation and operation of agreed security controls across cloud and IT services.

Contribute to activities supporting Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001, including control implementation, evidence gathering, and continuous improvement.

Assist with responses to customer security questionnaires and assurance requests with guidance and support.

Work with colleagues and suppliers to remediate identified risks, issues, or technical debt.

Follow and contribute to change, incident, and problem management processes.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency through automation and scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Azure CLI).

Produce and maintain clear technical documentation.

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience supporting IT infrastructure, cloud services, or internal IT environments.

Practical exposure to Azure and/or Microsoft 365 in a production setting.

Good understanding of core IT concepts including identity, access management, endpoints, and networking fundamentals.

Experience providing end-user IT support and responding to technical queries.

Ability to work methodically, follow defined processes, and contribute to improving them.

Willingness to develop skills in security, compliance, and governance.

Clear written and verbal communication skills.

A collaborative and service-focused approach.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience working with Cyber Essentials controls or assessments.

Exposure to ISO 27001 or similar information security frameworks.

Familiarity with Microsoft security features such as Conditional Access or Defender.

Experience supporting audits, assurance activities, or compliance work.

Scripting or automation experience (e.g. PowerShell).

Relevant Microsoft certifications or equivalent hands-on experience

Where to Advertise Cyber Security Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising cyber security jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, heavily vetted and in high demand across government, financial services, critical national infrastructure and the private sector simultaneously. Many of the strongest candidates hold active security clearances, are not actively job-searching through general platforms, and move primarily through specialist networks and trusted referrals. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that security professionals expect. Specialist platforms, government-affiliated channels and cleared candidate networks each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by CybersecurityJobs.tech, covers where to advertise cyber security roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

If you are considering a career in this field—or looking to advance within it—it is essential to understand what employers are really looking for in 2026. This guide breaks down the current expectations, required skills, certifications, and practical experience that can help you stand out in a competitive job market.
