Check Team Leader Job | Chartered Engineer | £100,000 + | Hybrid Working | ASAP Start | Perm or Contract

CBSButler are looking for a Chartered Check Team Leader to join on a permanent basis with one of the UK's most innovative Cyber Security companies. We can pay over £100,000 as we need candidates at experienced Senior or Principal level. This can be fully remote, although they'd ideally like it if you can occasionally commute to the London office. We ideally need this candidate on a permanent basis, but might be able to consider an exceptional contractor if you can start sooner rather than later.

Our client are one of the most innovative companies in the security research field, they're trusted by companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Apple and Amazon to run Pentesting services on their devices for example, and have notable investors.

This won't be a boring role running tests in basement data centres, due to their broad spectrum of specialist clients you will be able to work on projects of your choosing, be it Cloud Architecture and Kubernetes security, mobile or web app security, or niche OT device security research projects, where you will be able to work in the research centre using cutting edge technology to hack into hardware.

If you're not interested but know someone who would be a good fit for this position, we do pay £250 referral fee's for successful referrals!

Please see below for what we're looking for:

  • A strong background in Pentesting being either senior or principal level, we can consider any background or specialism of Pentesting (Infrastructure, Cloud, Web or Mobile apps or OT Security etc)

  • You will need to be a CHECK Team Leader

  • Ideally you will be a chartered engineer but this isn't necessarily essential, for example holding a chartered certification from the Cyber Security Council, CITP or CEng as an idea

If you're suitable and interested, please send an updated CV and I will call straight away.

Where to Advertise Cyber Security Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising cyber security jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, heavily vetted and in high demand across government, financial services, critical national infrastructure and the private sector simultaneously. Many of the strongest candidates hold active security clearances, are not actively job-searching through general platforms, and move primarily through specialist networks and trusted referrals. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that security professionals expect. Specialist platforms, government-affiliated channels and cleared candidate networks each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by CybersecurityJobs.tech, covers where to advertise cyber security roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

If you are considering a career in this field—or looking to advance within it—it is essential to understand what employers are really looking for in 2026. This guide breaks down the current expectations, required skills, certifications, and practical experience that can help you stand out in a competitive job market.
