Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a global law firm, who are looking to recruit an experienced Associate to join their Data Privacy & Cybersecurity team based in the San Francisco, CA area.

  

JOB DETAILS

SALARY: $260,000 - $310,000 per annum DOE 

WORK TYPE: Permanent 

WORK PATTERN: Full Time

LOCATION: San Francisco, CA  JOB DESCRIPTION

The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

Helping businesses comply with the CCPA and other state privacy laws, the FTC Act, GDPR, and other international privacy laws and regulations (while taking into account sector-specific experience in telecom, financial services, children's privacy, biometrics, genetics, or digital advertising); it is expected that you have a working knowledge of HIPAA, FCRA, GLBA, COPPA, TCPA, and CAN-SPAM.

Creating and updating information security policies, incident response plans, terms of service, privacy notices, and other data protection guidelines.

Drafting and negotiating agreements for professional services, vendor/service provider, data processing, cross-border transfer, and other commercial agreements that involve the exchange of data.

Answering questions from regulators or looking into data breaches and privacy compliance.

Conducting due diligence and providing advice on business transactions pertaining to privacy and security. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE 

In addition to having excellent writing and communication skills, being at ease with ambiguity, and a track record of providing exceptional client service.

Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, problem solvers, and have extensive first-hand experience counseling businesses on major international and U.S. data protection legal frameworks, the inner workings of the Internet, and privacy and regulatory compliance.

Excellent academic credentials and more than three years of experience giving legal advice on nearly entirely data protection issues are requirements for qualified candidates.
