Job Description

Job Purpose

The Technology Business Analyst (Tech BA), will bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, playing a crucial role in supporting and optimising our technology-driven solutions. The Tech BA will work on multiple deliveries across our digital platforms supporting Transformation projects as an enabler for consolidation and removing tech debt. They will help enhance our applications to streamline operations and support innovation across Fastmarkets.

This role demands a unique combination of strong technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to navigate the complexities of a dynamic environment from both a technology and stakeholder perspective.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and has a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team.

 

Fundamentals

· Ability to demonstrate extensive commercial experience across a wide range of projects.

· Relevant business knowledge: commodities, pricing, news, editorial and analytics; Digital Platforms; Content Management Systems (CMS); Exchange Market data.

· Preferably a BSc degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

 

General skills

· Multi-industry experience, demonstrating an ability to operate within different environments and work with varied processes, stakeholders, and delivery challenges.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to run workshops and produce high quality documentation appropriate for multiple stakeholders e.g. business, technical, C-suite etc.

· Mindset of collaboration and teamwork for delivery as part of remote teams and able to build relationships with business and technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation e.g. editorial teams and pricing analysts.

· Attention to detail, able to analyse a problem from every angle and validate assumptions.

· Demonstrates a genuine interest in technology as well as new and emerging trends and tools.

 

Technology

· Experience of projects built in Microsoft technologies and Azure.

· Practical experience of using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, and Lucid Charts.

· Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the fundamentals of software development, on-prem and Azure based cloud infrastructure.

· Considers Information Security and Compliance requirements during analysis and design and rigorously tracks their implementation.

· Experienced the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to test, go live and post go live support and documentation.

· Experience of working in a hybrid Waterfall and Agile delivery environment.

· Awareness of the challenges of migrating data from legacy to new applications.

· Able to analyse large data sets for analysis, cleansing and transformation.

· Experience with identifying, specifying, and testing changes to system interfaces and feeds e.g., APIs, .csv, .xls, .txt and .xml files etc.

· Able to understand relational database concepts and query using SQL.
