Job Purpose

We are looking for a talented, experienced Architect with a development background to work with our Product Engineering teams. Your architectural design experience will help us provide an amazing and seamless user experience for our customers.

As an experienced Architect, you will ensure that we design our platform to meet long-term business aspirations and provide our customers with a performant, sleek, exciting, and safe experience.

You will have a good knowledge of architectural patterns and best practices when designing a slick platform and can articulate this to the team, providing technical guidance and support as well as architectural governance.

As a member of the Architecture team, you will also contribute to future state architecture planning, clearly defining the evolution of our platform and providing guidelines for engineering teams to operate efficiently through implementation.

Job Duties

Transforming business requirements into solution designs that align with the current technical strategy. Leading workshops/whiteboard sessions to establish architecture solutions to complex problems. Collaborating with other Architects to ensure solutions are compatible with the wider landscape and long-term vision. Working closely with Engineering teams, providing support, direction, and technical guidance during design and implementation. Contributing to the Architecture Strategic Road Map and overall capability. Ensure architecture work meets Betfred's standards and aligns with the current business and architecture principles.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

A background in software development (C# .NET preferred). Knowledge of software design patterns (and anti-patterns). Awareness of architectural patterns. Knowledge of architecture engagement throughout the SDLC. Excellent communicator at all levels. Experience in leading a delivery team in an architecture capacity.

Desirables

Hands-on experience in designing Cloud and/or Hybrid solutions. Knowledge of security architecture and secure design. Experience in CI/CD practices and strategies. Awareness of the TOGAF ADM.

Qualifications

Demonstrable experience in an Architecture role, along with a proven development background.
