About the Opportunity

Amentum are offering an exciting opportunity to join our growing team of System Engineering professionals to work on a range of projects within our Systems, Security & Innovation (SSI) team, delivering to our diverse client portfolio that covers Critical National Infrastructure, National Security, Defence and Nuclear market sectors.
Our team is growing fast and we are looking for a self-starting, motivated and experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to operate across the full spectrum of security engineering activities in support of the design, development, integration, delivery and in-service support of complex technical projects.

You will support the delivery of our existing projects and help to secure future business, enabling us to evolve and grow within our target markets, whilst giving you the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and interesting projects and programmes across the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Government portfolio. This role provides a fantastic career opportunity, allowing you to join a growing team and develop your skills and experience under the guidance and mentorship of our senior system engineers. The role will see you managing the security elements of a complex delivery project as well as developing the security architecture necessary to deliver safe and secure solutions for the modern world.

Reporting to the System Engineering Manager, typical activities that you would undertake include:

  • Contribute to or own the development of Security Management Plans.
  • Develop security requirements, architectures, and designs for complex systems.
  • Develop cyber security assessment approaches.
  • Specify and implement a robust security risk management process.
  • Support accreditation activities with the client and regulating authorities.
  • Conduct security reviews and audits.
  • Conduct security operations, including Protective Monitoring, Incident Management, Incident Response, and Incident Recovery activities.
  • Provide technical assistance to Business Development, generating work estimates for prospective projects.
  • Maintain familiarity with legislation and regulations of relevance.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Experience in a leading security role delivering projects within a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Experience of demonstrating adherence to JSP604 and JSP440 Defence standards (or equivalent).
  • Experience of the full System Engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience of the MOD accreditation process and/or principles of Secure By Design is highly desirable.
  • Experience of working on projects delivering to the UK MoD is desirable, but not essential.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work flexibly across a wide variety of projects as part of a diverse team of people.
  • Currently hold, or be willing and able to apply and obtain, SC clearance.
