Raytheon UK has a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Architect to join the Raytheon UK Weapons team.
As a result of new contracts, the engineering team is rapidly growing. We are looking for a motivated Systems Architect with a background in system development, certification and qualification with a keen interest in weapon systems.

As a Systems Architect, you will contribute to global security by providing technical leadership in the development of complex systems and the delivery of high-profile programmes to customers based in the UK.

The role will be based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility. The successful candidate will have access to professional development opportunities and be part of the growing Defence business in Raytheon UK, delivering engineering expertise across a wide range of projects to both military and civil customers worldwide.
Main Duties:
Understand and capture the programme/project context. Tailor Raytheon UK’s Architecture process and develop the architecture plans. Define the Mission Architecture (e.g. capability and operation architectures) and Technical Architecture (Conceptual / logical / Physical) in line with mainstream Architecture Frameworks (e.g. NAF, DODAF, UAF), and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)methodologies (e.g. MagicGrid) in Raytheon UK Weapons team Digital Environment Work with Engineering Specialist to define safety and security architectures. Validate architecture models, prepare and conduct architecture reviews Define, derive, and capture system requirements by working with other systems engineers and Subject Matter Experts. Support the Raytheon UK’s architecture business capability maturation by defining improved processes, methodologies and work instructions. Support the design development of complex systems to ensure compliance with the defined technical architecture.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Demonstrable experience in systems development across the development lifecycle. Experience in defining system architecture for complex systems Ability to deploy MBSE methodologies Keen analytical approach to solving complex problems Demonstrated ability to convey complex ideas, engage and convince stakeholders. Experience in the management of requirements. Eligible or holder of current SC security clearance
Desirable:
Ability to deploy mainstream Architecture Frameworks Bachelors' Degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology or Systems Relevant experience in systems engineering Weapon Systems domain knowledge and/or experience in a similar field
