Solutions Architecture is part of the Architecture Team within Santander Services. You’ll gain incredible exposure across the business, working closely with other architecture teams (Enterprise, Cloud, Technical, Data & Security Architecture) and liaising with Business and IT colleagues in Santander UK, as well as Santander Global/Group Architecture.
The Team effectively works as an Architecture Community across domains, sharing reusable patterns and solutions, as well as innovating and curating new solutions to grow and keep Santander competitive.

The difference you’ll make:
Applying domain and Decision Driven Design experience, using your knowledge of the BIAN framework, TOGAF, ArchiMate and API & microservice architecture solutions, using tools such as Avolution Abacus to create Solution Design Documents (SDD)
Owning the end-to-end Solution Architecture, collaborating and co-ordinating input from other architecture disciplines (Security, Data, Infra, Cloud, etc), and aligned to Domain Enterprise Architecture Strategy
Documenting complex As-Is / Transition / Target Architectures aligned to associated roadmaps
Establishing & maintaining Strategy/Roadmaps, aligning diverse stakeholders across different technologies and business areas, both locally & globally
Having knowledge of Digital/API/Micro-Services/Big Data/AWS/Azure/Cloud Architecture and domain relevant software packages
Understanding and experience of migrating/decommissioning from legacy technologies to new technologies and removing obsolescence
What you’ll bring:
Experienced in IT Systems Design and Solutions Architecture with Financial Institution knowledge, Retail, or Corporate with domain knowledge in Financial Crime (Financial Crime Detection, Transaction Monitoring, KYC/CRA, Sanctions Screening, etc), or other regulated industry risk control frameworks
Experience in creating practical, workable architectures that can be aligned to IT principles/standards, whilst following appropriate governance
Collaboration is critical, as is the ability to communicate complex concepts (both written and verbal)
Demonstrable experience to diplomatically challenge and influence a diverse set of stakeholders and colleagues
It would also be nice for you to have:
Ability to deal with ambiguity with resilience to drive clarity/agreement
Good organisational and prioritisation skills across competing demands on time
Demonstrate initiative, with the ability to learn fast (new concepts and skills) and deal calmly with situations under pressure
Manage risks in a highly Regulatory business/environment

This is a permanent role to be based in Milton Keynes and current expectation is at least days in an office every week.
