Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to guide a multidisciplinary team of designers and engineers, collaborating closely with bid managers to prepare proposals for High Voltage AC & DC substations, offshore wind farms, battery energy storage systems, and green hydrogen production projects-supporting the broader Green Energy Transition.

This position requires a dynamic and motivated individual with strong knowledge of the tendering and bid process, as well as a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer value drivers that support successful bidding strategies.

The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise in high-voltage AC substation design and primary plant, along with an understanding of protection and control systems, SCADA, OT cybersecurity, telecommunications, metering, current and voltage transformer specifications, and substation integration.

Key Responsibilities

Lead preparation of bid submissions for opportunities related to high-voltage substations, offshore wind, energy storage, and hydrogen projects.

Provide technical substation design and primary plant expertise to support tender development, working collaboratively with commercial teams.

Analyse client requirements to define and optimise product and solution offerings.

Prepare technical documentation for bid submissions, including scope descriptions, schedules, and costings, while ensuring alignment with contractual and internal standards.

Develop equipment and service technical specifications.

Apply in-depth understanding of business drivers to deliver high-quality outputs.

Ensure effective integration of team deliverables with other functions within the organisation.

Exercise sound judgement to propose solutions beyond established parameters, with guidance as needed.

Draw upon prior experience and training to resolve standard technical tasks.

Utilise technical expertise and analytical skills to troubleshoot and support problem-solving.

Engage with internal stakeholders across departments to achieve successful bid outcomes.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Power or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum 10 years of experience in Engineering, Technology, or Customer Application Engineering within the transmission and/or distribution sector (experience in wind farm or HVDC design is desirable).

Strong fluency in spoken and written English.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to deliver high‑quality outputs within tight deadlines.
