Security Consultant (Cybersecurity, Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto, Threat Intelligence) – High-impact, remote-first role delivering enterprise-grade security solutions.

A Security Consultant (Cybersecurity, Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto, Threat Intelligence) is needed by a fast-moving systems integrator delivering full-stack IT solutions – hardware, software, cloud, and consulting – to commercial and public sector clients.
This role is a mix of design and architecture, and implementation and deployment in a security-focused business that's scaling fast and investing heavily in talent.

You must have:
· Experience with IT Security, ideally from a consultancy background
· Experience designing and delivering full security programmes
· Strong understanding of vulnerability management and threat intelligence
· Hands-on experience with Microsoft, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, and Qualys
· Certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH (or working towards)

The business invests in you – there's a dedicated L&D team, plenty of internal training, and clear career routes into new technical areas. If you want to move into another part of the business long term, they’ll support it.

The job:
You’ll handle pre-sales scoping, build roadmaps, define scopes of work, and lead on project delivery. Expect to work closely with colleagues across Modern Workplace, Networking, and Public Cloud teams. You'll be delivering end-to-end security projects and working in a fully remote consulting team.

Why apply?
· Remote-first setup – site visits only when needed
· Exposure to high-level, enterprise security projects
· Strong focus on Microsoft and multi-vendor environments
· Real training and internal mobility – not just lip service
· Security clearance support offered if needed

Why Cyber Security Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Cyber security used to be viewed primarily as a technical discipline: firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, penetration testing. In the UK today, it’s far broader. Organisations now face complex legal frameworks, ethical dilemmas, human-behaviour risks, communication challenges & usability hurdles. This shift means cyber security careers are becoming more multidisciplinary. From protecting NHS patient records to defending financial services, securing supply chains & safeguarding national infrastructure, cyber security now touches every sector. Employers increasingly want professionals who understand law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design alongside traditional technical skills. In this article, we’ll explore why UK cyber security careers are expanding in this way, how these five disciplines shape the profession, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to thrive in this new landscape.
