Security Architect - DV Cleared - Outside IR35

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Architect Lead to support a public sector programme in Berkshire on a 12-month contract paying up to £90 per hour inside IR35. The successful candidate will have proven experience delivering technical security leadership across enterprise environments, including cloud architecture, assurance, and secure systems design.


Key Accountabilities:

• Proven experience in security architecture and cyber capability development

• Strong background in secure systems design, risk mitigation, and assurance activity

• Experience working across large, multi-disciplinary teams within regulated environments

• Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to engage at all levels

• Awareness of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices


Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical input into secure system architecture and security control design

• Review solution designs to ensure security compliance and effectiveness

• Lead on identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities across projects

• Support IT Health Checks, risk assessments, and internal assurance processes

• Advise managers on control implementation and performance improvements

• Contribute to the ongoing maturity of organisational cyber capability


Essential Requirements:

• DV (Developed Vetting) clearance

• British Citizen with 10 years’ UK residency

• Experience in secure, enterprise-scale environments (cloud and on-premise)

• CISSP, CESG Certified IA Professional, or equivalent qualifications

• Strong understanding of security frameworks and architectural methodologies

• Excellent interpersonal and cross-team collaboration skills
