Senior Software Developer | Manchester | £40,000 - £60,000 | Hybrid

I'm working with an exciting and forward-thinking company based in Manchester, looking for a Senior Software Developer to join their Portal team. This role offers a competitive salary of £40,000 - £60,000 and a flexible hybrid working model.

🚀 The Role

You'll be part of a skilled development team responsible for managing and enhancing a range of services. While the team takes ownership of operations, they collaborate closely with IT & Operations for additional resources when needed. There's also an on-call rota (with additional compensation) after a settling-in period.

This is a great opportunity to work with modern development practices, including CI/CD, unit testing, and open-source coding standards, with plenty of chances to expand your skills into new technologies.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

Understanding requirements and acceptance criteria
Writing high-quality application code and tests
Leading software development projects and architecture design
Ensuring all development work meets company standards
Scheduling maintenance and internal improvements in coordination with the Team Lead
Identifying risks and creating contingency plans
Collaborating with engineering, testing, and UX teams
Adhering to security, quality, and health & safety policies

💡 About You

We're looking for a developer with:

Strong knowledge of programming languages and software development concepts
The ability to define technical specifications based on customer requirements
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues
Experience with system architecture & design
A solid understanding of information security (ISO 27001 and other security policies)
Strong PHP skills using the Laravel or Lumen frameworks
Strong JavaScript or TypeScript knowledge with Angular
Experience with AWS & serverless technologies
Proficiency in HTML and CSSPreferred but not essential:

Experience developing privacy-centric applications
Experience optimizing SQL queries for large and complex datasets
