Substance is seeking a detail-oriented and experiencedNetwork Firewall & Software Manual Testing Engineerto join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the robustness and security of network systems by conducting comprehensive manual testing on firewalls and related software applications. You will work closely with development teams to validate security configurations and functionality, identifying vulnerabilities and performance issues before they affect the production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conductmanual testingof firewall and hotspot gateway software to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Document alltest cases, results, and observationsusing Excel or related software tools.
  • Identify, log, and trackbugs and defects, ensuring they are properly reported and addressed by developers.
  • Perform various testing methodologies, includingfunctional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and unit testing.
  • Collaborate with developers and network engineers to troubleshoot and validate fixes.
  • Take fullownership of assigned tasks, ensuring quality assurance objectives are met.
  • Ensure compliance withnetwork security standards and best practices.
  • Continuously improve test cases and contribute to process enhancements.

Job Competencies:

  • Software Testing & Manual Testing(includingFunctional, Regression, Unit, and Performance Testing)
  • Computer Networkingprinciples and security protocols
  • Stronglogical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Experience withbug tracking and test case documentation toolsis a plus

    • Bachelor’s degreein Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
