Learning Support Assistant - Reception Class - Haringey School

A well-regarded two-form entry primary school in Haringey is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil in Reception with mild Autism. The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with the Early Years team and SENCo to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences tailored to the child's individual needs.

This Learning Support Assistant role begins in September 2025 and runs until July 2026, with the strong possibility of a permanent position.

Learning Support Assistant Duties:

Provide tailored support and interventions for a pupil with Autism

Use visual aids, PECs, or Makaton (desirable but not essential)

Promote positive interactions and social skills in group settings

Collaborate with EYFS staff to adapt the curriculum when needed

Monitor and record progress, reporting to relevant staff

Ideal Candidate:

Learning support assistant to have experience in an EYFS setting or working with Autism is highly desirable

A nurturing, engaging and flexible approach to child development

Passionate about inclusion and early intervention
