You’ll have an impact on bringing digital-first banking to our customers by defining the future state architecture vision and strategies for our Global Businesses and Global Functions.
You’ll be developing business, data, software, and integration architecture standards to manage processes, systems, and technology complexity across the HSBC Group. Through dynamic, agile collaboration you’ll work closely with business partners to translate their requirements into integrated solutions that can be deployed globally using consistent service patterns for ease of deployment, support, and enhancement.
The Lead Security Solution Architect manages the end-to-end solution design and is responsible for delivering in-line with global patterns and strategies where appropriate and to align business requirements to cybersecurity technology solutions.
The role will manage and provide consistent end-to-end solution designs which will deliver expected business outcomes, satisfy all relevant regulatory requirements, and mitigate identified operational risks.
Additionally, the Lead Security Solution Architect will provide security SME guidance to other solution architects in related functions and work as key member of the Group Security Architecture team, reporting to the Head of Security Solution Architecture.

In this role you will:
• Produces, manages and defines the detailed end to end solution design for products and features in a way that supports the execution of the technology strategy and roadmap, articulating and addressing associated architectural risks, issues and technical debt.
• Produces, manages and translates the requirements into the architecture for that solution, ensuring the products and services meet the customer needs and expected Business Outcomes, and solutions meet the customer needs.
• Ensures the design of the solutions are cost effective and maintained through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities.
• Ensures the FRs & NFRs are consistently defined and architected into the design.
• Effectively manages and escalates risks/issues, to ensure there are no surprises.
• Ensures the architecture undergoes appropriate level of assessment at the right stage throughout the agile process in line with the governance process ensuring adherence to Decision Driven Design and the Solution Architecture FIM.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Masters or doctorate degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred
• CISSP/CISM certification or other broad cybersecurity industry-recognised certificate
• SABSA certification preferred
• Experience presenting architectural designs, patterns, and key decisions to design authorities
• Experience working in transformation projects with multi-domain teams across cybersecurity & information technology
• Experience in solution or enterprise architecture within the financial service sector preferred
This role is based in London or Edinburgh.
