As a Lead Security Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls, you play a crucial role in developing software solutions that meet specified functional and user requirements while ensuring protection against misuse, circumvention, and malicious activities.

As a key technical contributor, you are tasked with implementing essential technology solutions using tamper-proof, audit-defensible methods across diverse technical domains within various business functions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the security engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  2. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions for enterprise-scale deployments.
  3. Deploy commercial software at scale into an enterprise environment.
  4. Develop and enforce robust change management practices to ensure system integrity and security.
  5. Define and implement infrastructure as Code (IaC), work with CI/CD pipelines, and automate tooling.
  6. Engage in systems engineering, integrations, and administration, with strong knowledge of Windows and Linux internals.
  7. Design and develop production deployments, thinking beyond routine approaches to deliver solutions for stakeholders.
  8. Develop secure, high-quality production code, review, debug, and implement complex business logic in scripting languages like Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  9. Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal teams effectively.
  10. Minimize vulnerabilities by following industry insights and regulations, evolving security protocols, and creating effective control processes.
  11. Work with stakeholders to understand security needs and recommend modifications during vulnerabilities.
  12. Promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Formal training or certification in engineering concepts and advanced experience.
  • Experience with cloud, deployment, or DevOps engineering.
  • Proven skills in planning, designing, and implementing enterprise security solutions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automation and integration.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies like CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud certifications, especially AWS-focused, such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
  • Excellent communication skills with senior business leaders.
