In addition, DHCW provides expert advice in relation to cyber security and information governance. We give frontline staff the digital tools which help them provide safer and more efficient care. We are seeking a Lead Cloud Security Architect to play a pivotal role in enhancing the security of critical digital services for NHS Wales. As a key member of our team, you will use your expertise to lead complex, high-impact projects, ensuring robust, scalable, and innovative security solutions.
Your Role:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of cloud security architectures across multiple projects.
  • Act as the primary security authority, providing strategic security advice to senior stakeholders and mentoring a team of security professionals.
  • Drive the development of security strategies, standards, and guidelines, ensuring they align with organisational goals.
  • Conduct security assessments, lead risk management activities, and develop mitigation strategies for complex technical challenges.
  • Lead the technical design of secure systems, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Stay ahead of emerging security trends, applying your knowledge to improve our security posture.
    What You Will Bring:
    Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Master’s degree in an associated professional field (or equivalent qualification/experience).
  • Industry-recognised qualification in cloud security architecture.
  • Experience in reviewing security configurations within an operational IT service delivery role in a large, complex programme.
  • Experience in defining and designing Cyber security requirements for IT systems aligned with organisational objectives.
    Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Chartered IT Professional (CITP) or equivalent professional registration.
  • FEDIP Practitioner or equivalent recognised Intermediate Professional qualification.
  • Ability to review and evaluate emerging security technologies.
  • Strong understanding of human factors in security and their impact on digital adoption.
  • Ability to align security initiatives with business goals for measurable improvements.
