A leading organisation in the offshore and renewables sector is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager (ISM) to head its Cyber Security strategy and best practices. Operating in the booming renewables industry, they specialise in installation, construction, offshore renewables, decommissioning, and engineering. This permanent role offers the flexibility to be based in their offices in Aberdeen or London.

This is a strategic leadership role, bridging the gap between senior management's vision and the technical expertise of security teams. The ISM will play a crucial part in shaping and delivering security initiatives that protect critical infrastructure while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement a robust cybersecurity strategy, proactively identifying and mitigating risks while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  2. Lead a team of security professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to drive operational excellence.
  3. Oversee security infrastructure and manage incident response.
  4. Work closely with vendors and internal teams to enhance the organisation's security posture.
  5. Champion security awareness initiatives and support audit and compliance efforts.
  6. Contribute to disaster recovery planning to strengthen resilience against evolving cyber threats.

What They're Looking For:

  1. Vast IT experience, including the majority in a security role and some in a leadership role.
  2. Industry-recognised security certifications such as CISSP, CISM (preferred).
  3. Proven expertise in cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO) and securing modern digital environments.
  4. A strong background in risk assessment, security governance, and compliance.
  5. Familiarity with OT/SCADA systems and cyber risks in industrial or maritime settings (advantageous).
  6. Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and senior executives.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role in a forward-thinking organisation that values innovation and security. You'll have the chance to shape cybersecurity strategy, influence key decision-making, and work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly impact the resilience of critical operations.

They operate a mostly on-site working arrangement at their modern office space, so it's essential that you stay within commutable distance of Westhill and are happy to travel in 4 times per week.

In return, they're able to offer a competitive salary (happy to discuss prior to application), as well as a whole host of benefits including car allowance, strong pension contribution, good holiday allowance and private medical + dental care.
