Are you someone who’s passionate about cybersecurity and protecting businesses from growing digital threats?

Are you looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference and continue to build your career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment?

We’re working with a fast-growing software and services company in the energy sector who are expanding their Security team. They’re looking for an Information Security Analyst who can help keep their systems, customers, and data safe — someone who’s as comfortable investigating incidents as they are improving the day-to-day security operations.

In this role, you’ll be right at the heart of the company’s security efforts. You’ll monitor internal systems and security tools to spot potential threats early, helping to investigate, manage and learn from incidents when they happen.

You’ll also support wider security projects — from helping assess suppliers and partners, to reviewing internal processes and keeping security policies up-to-date. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, offering advice and support on how to keep systems safe, and play your part in maintaining high standards around risk management and compliance.

This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who’s proactive, organised, and enjoys digging into challenges.

We'd like to see:

  • 1-2 years experience working in an Information or Cyber Security role
  • Good knowledge of cloud and network security
  • A background in responding to and managing security incidents
  • An understanding of how to maintain strong security controls (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, email filtering)
  • Great communication skills and a collaborative approach — you’ll be working with both technical and non-technical teams
  • A real eye for detail, and the ability to spot potential risks before they become problems

Professional security certifications (or the ambition to gain them) would be a bonus, but they’re more interested in your approach, attitude, and passion for security than just ticking boxes.

There’s plenty of room for growth here — whether that’s moving into more technical security work, focusing on cloud environments, or gaining recognised certifications to deepen your expertise - with potential development pathways ranging from Pen Testing through to Compliance, it's safe to say the the world is your oyster.

The team get together once a week in the Chorley HQ so being able to commute from the surrounding areas is essential.

If you’re looking for a role where you can really kick-start your Cyber Security career, you know where we are....

Quantum-Enhanced AI in Cyber Security: Guarding the Digital Frontier

The cyber security landscape has evolved dramatically over the past decade. Long gone are the days when businesses primarily worried about simplistic phishing or basic website defacements. Today’s threats include nation-state attacks, sophisticated ransomware, AI-generated phishing campaigns, and a wide array of stealthy intrusion methods. Organisations must defend vast digital ecosystems that include cloud infrastructure, IoT devices, and critical operational technology—any of which can become high-value targets for malicious actors. Amid these escalating challenges, a new technological wave is emerging: quantum computing. Although still in its infancy, quantum computing promises capabilities that could surpass even the most advanced classical supercomputers for specific tasks. Simultaneously, in the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI)—where data volumes and model complexity are exploding—quantum’s parallelism could significantly boost analysis, training, and decision-making. What unfolds when quantum computing and AI converge in the realm of cyber security? On one hand, quantum technologies could introduce stronger encryption and faster threat detection. On the other, adversaries armed with quantum power might break today’s cryptographic protocols or develop more potent attacks at unimaginable speeds. This article explores the phenomenon of quantum-enhanced AI for cyber security: the possibilities it unlocks, the challenges it poses, and the reasons it could reshape both defensive and offensive operations in the digital world.
