Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a unique independent SEN group, that provides therapeutic education for children and young people with special educational / neurodiverse learning needs (SEN). They are seeking to appoint a Co-Headteacher on a permanent basis from February 2024, to join their specialist national online school that offers a full curriculum delivered through therapeutic education and support to children and young people aged 7 to 25, who are unable to access education within an onsite school setting.

As the Co-Headteacher you will be directly accountable for providing strategic leadership and technical expertise in managing and enhancing the National Online School, overseeing the delivery of a bespoke curriculum tailored to meet individual needs, and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging online learning environment, while also driving continuous improvement and innovation in educational practices.

As Co-Headteacher you will play a crucial role in preparing the school for external inspections, managing staff development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, ultimately contributing to the overall success and growth of the online school. The role will be based in SW London with hybrid working (Maximum of 2 days per week working from home).

KEY EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Substantial experience at senior management level, providing strong leadership through successful delivery against agreed strategic plans and targets
  • Proven experience of managing and motivating large multidisciplinary teams
  • Developing operational plans for education, inclusion, and/or clinical provision
  • Raising outcomes for pupils with neurodiverse needs while promoting a culture of inclusion
  • Multi-agency working, including voluntary and community sectors
  • Principles and practice of quality assurance systems, including service self-evaluation and performance management
  • Statutory framework for education and the legal framework that underpins the management of a special school, including a working understanding of the SEN Code of Practice April 2015, the Education Inspection Framework, ISS regulations, and Keeping Children Safe in Education
  • Proven use of improvement strategies and how to tackle underperformance in different contexts and at all levels
  • Proficiency in using advanced learning management systems (LMS) to streamline course delivery, track student progress, and facilitate communication between students and educators
  • Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to personalise learning experiences, providing tailored content and support based on individual student needs and performance
  • Knowledge of virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies to create immersive learning environments that enhance student engagement and understanding
  • Familiarity with cloud-based solutions to ensure scalability, flexibility, and accessibility of educational resources and services
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity measures and data protection practices to ensure the safety and privacy of student information
  • Competence in using data analytics to track performance trends, student progress, and engagement, using insights to inform strategic decisions

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a minimum of five years at leadership level or recognised Therapy Degree qualification and Health Professions Council license to practice, with a minimum of five years post qualification experience. Or recognised Social Work Degree level qualification with current UK registration, and a minimum of five years post qualification experience.

Salary offered:75,000 - 82,500 (Dependent on experience)
