Head of Network Security Strategy and Architecture
Initial 6 Months contract
Reading/Hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite
This leadership role drives a clear, multi-year Network Security strategy across RAN, Transport, Core, and OSS domains, aligning with business goals and evolving technologies. It translates strategy into a secure architecture that supports efficient network and IT operations, ensuring compliance and building customer trust.
The role requires staying updated on industry trends, collaborating with architecture and delivery teams, and working closely with Information Security, regulatory, and business functions to meet organizational needs.
Knowledge and experience required for this role:
Extensive experience in Cyber Security within network environments, including strategy, road-map creation, and high-level architecture design. Skilled in collaboration with both industry and government bodies on cybersecurity issues. Capable of working across organisational levels, from technical teams to senior management. Proficient in applying security policies, governance, compliance, risk management, and assurance practices. Expertise in designing secure system architectures, setting standards, and establishing precedents. Strong knowledge of system vulnerabilities and impact on both current and future designs. Experienced with security frameworks like NIST, PCI, GDPR, ISO, OWASP, ITIL, SoGP, and COBIT. In-depth understanding of OSS, RAN, Core, Transport, IP, cloud, and end-to-end services. Proven collaboration with delivery teams, managing Telco/non-Telco vendors, and handling RFIs and RFQs. Experienced in budgeting, prioritisation, and team leadership.
