Head of Engineering & Infrastructure – Manchester (Hybrid Remote) - £95k

2-3dpw on-site | Greenfield Modernisation Project (PHP) | AI Enablement | Autonomy | Progression to CTO | Flexible Business | LTIP

Ada Meher is proud to be working exclusively with a client in the SaaS financial reporting space as they search for a Head of Engineering & Infrastructure to spearhead a greenfield re-platforming and modernisation of their two core products. They are aiming to leverage technology to make the business more efficient and scalable and are looking for an individual with an excellent track record in turn-around and modernisation work to drive this. You will have the backing of the board to make decisions on technical design and process implementations with autonomy and clarity on measurable goals.

There is an appetite from the business to incorporate AI into both the product, to maximise their offering to customers, and their development practices, to improve efficiency and speed of delivery. As such, an ideal candidate will have experience leading teams with practical applications of AI. It is also important that the candidate is comfortable leading conversations and initiative on areas such as Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Information Security. There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to progress into a CTO role as the business scales.

The company are productivity focused, so offer autonomy and flexibility in how your diary is managed but do ask for a candidate to be local to Manchester and come into the office 2-3dpw to work with the team. In terms of hours, there is flexibility to work around life’s other commitments – but with the ultimate focus on delivering value to the business.

To Be Considered:

Notable experience implementing modern technology and practices into a SaaS business as part of a Digital Transformation – ie. Microservices, CI/CD, IaC, TDD & Automation Testing
A strong background in either Software Engineering (ideally PHP) or Infrastructure Engineering, with an appreciation of the other
Knowledge of Cyber Security principles and frameworks (ie. ISO / Cyber Essentials Plus)
Experience utilising AI as either a product feature or a development tool
Focus on delivering Speed, Security, Scalability and Stability
The business is owned by an equity group and who are putting together a Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) to share the success of the business growth with those who helped achieve it when they come to exit in 3-5 years. With the integral role that technology will play in that growth, this creates an excellent earning potential in the Head of Engineering & Infrastructure role long term.

SOC Analyst Jobs UK 2026: Salaries, Skills & How to Get Hired

Cyber security is one of the UK's fastest-growing career paths — and SOC analyst is where most people begin. It's in high demand, genuinely accessible, and you don't need a degree or years of experience to get started. But knowing what UK employers actually want in 2026 — what they pay, which certs matter, and how to stand out — is a different matter. This guide covers all of it.

How Many Cyber Security Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Cyber Security Job?

If you are trying to build or move forward in a cyber security career, it can feel like the list of tools you are expected to know never ends. One job advert asks for SIEM platforms, another mentions penetration testing tools, another lists cloud security, threat intelligence platforms, endpoint detection, scripting languages and compliance frameworks. Scroll LinkedIn and it gets worse. Everyone seems to “know” dozens of tools, certifications and platforms. Here is the reality most cyber security hiring managers agree on: they are not hiring you because you know every tool. They are hiring you because you understand risk, can think like an attacker and a defender, follow process, communicate clearly and make good decisions under pressure. Tools matter — but only when they support those outcomes. So how many cyber security tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most job seekers, the answer is far fewer than you think. This article explains what employers really expect, which tools are essential, which are role-specific and how to focus your learning so you look credible, not overwhelmed.
