My client provides vital services and is looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer to join them on a permanent basis. Your new role As a DPO for the organisation, you will be in a core role to set the standard of excellence across Information Governance and provide guidance for data protection and compliance! This core role will see you shape the approach to ethical data use, by managing data protection access requests as well as freedom of information requests. You will be working to develop and enhance policies and be the lead contact for the data protection legislation supervisory authority, Information Commissioners Office and any individuals whose data is processed. You will be risk orientated, and be accountable for managing risk and knowing when to escalate to the Senior Information Risk Owner. You will have indirect responsibility and the support of a governance administrator! You will be ensuring all SARs are responded to within all statutory timescales. You will be instrumental in maintaining data retention policies and be comfortable providing expert advice to senior stakeholders.
