Cyber Security Engineer

As a Cyber Security Engineer you will be working on complex systems provided by Thales. Providing specialist security architecture, technical understanding and guidance, to enable Thales to devise, develop and maintain reliable, secure, accreditable and economically sustainable security solutions to meet the project needs.
 

Your advice on the development of security compliant system architectures and contribution to the design of the preliminary and detailed designs of the solution is key. This includes the study of alternatives and a risk assessment.

You will be joining a growing team of specialist Engineers and Architects to provide the right security solution to meet customer requirements.

Key responsibilities:

Identify and analyse threats, vulnerabilities and unwanted security consequences, and maintain their traceability to security requirements. Ensure that identified security requirements are recorded and are included and tracked throughout the project/product development. Maintain the log and traceability of security requirements to security controls and associated assurance evidence. Collate and configure the evidence necessary to complete the Security Case. Produce justification for security control choices Create reports and artefacts to support the security case, including deliverable items. Review observations and reports from users or maintainers and define corrective actions to maintain the solution security case where necessary. Ensure technical coordination across a multi-discipline team

 

We are looking for:
 

Ideally you would have worked in a Cyber Security Engineer role within Defence (Air/Land/Naval), Nuclear, Government, Aerospace, CNI or Transport Experience of defining system security controls on your own or with other specialists
You are proficient with Infrastructure Security Design, including (but not limited to) subject areas such as Network Security, Cryptography, Identity & Access Management, End-point protection, cloud technologies and protective monitoring. Confident advising and giving support to the rest of the team
Proficient in the use of Risk Assessment tools and methodologies across a wide range of industry sectors, You have an in-depth knowledge of industry-standard frameworks and practices, such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIS-2, JSPs, MITRE) Experience in the implementation of Secure by Design principles
 

Desirable:
Graduated in Engineering or Computer Science or hold relevant industry certifications (CISSP, Cisco, CCP, etc
Risk Management and Accreditation

Systems Design Lifecycles

Embedded Systems Design experience
