Cyber Security Consultant - Energy Industry Experience Required

Contract

£500-£590 per day

iO Associates are supporting a SME in the Energy Sector in their search for aCyber Security Consultant.You'll play a key role in leading the protection and advancement of cyber defences for operational technology environments. In this role, you'll be instrumental in safeguarding industrial systems and essential infrastructure from evolving cyber risks.

The client is looking for someone with direct experience with smaller energy companies/DNOs and exposure to OT environments and smart metering is ideal!

Key Responsibilities

Lead evaluations of industrial environments to uncover security gaps and recommend mitigation strategies. Support and guide less experienced team members, fostering their development through mentoring and knowledge sharing. Create and apply tailored security controls within operational technology ecosystems to protect critical infrastructure.

About You

At least five years of experience in cyber and network security, ideally including exposure to operational technology environments. Familiarity with industrial systems and communication protocols like Modbus or DNP3 is a plus Track record of mentoring colleagues and supporting skill development across teams. Industry recognised networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
