We have disrupted the textbook industry by reducing the cost of education significantly and increasing publisher sales.

Position Overview

BibliU seeks a strategic and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our engineering, product, and IT functions. This role demands an accomplished leader with a proven track record of scaling technology in high-growth SaaS/EdTech environments. As CTO, you will be pivotal in defining our technological and product direction, managing large-scale product developments, and fostering a high-performance culture to support BibliU’s ambitious growth. A key responsibility will be overseeing technical integration post-acquisition, ensuring seamless incorporation of new systems and capabilities as we expand.


What you will be doing:

Strategic Technology Leadership:Set a clear technology vision that aligns with BibliU’s growth goals. Drive innovation and ensure we lead in the EdTech sector.

Collaborating with Product:Work with product to develop a roadmap from concept to deployment, ensuring scalable, high-performance solutions. Collaborate closely with the VP of Engineering to enhance delivery and align with customer needs.

Infrastructure & Operations:Manage our technology infrastructure with a focus on cloud scalability, data security, and operational excellence.

Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure all technology practices meet regulatory standards and adapt strategies to stay compliant.

DPO Responsibilities:Has strong experience in data protection and ensuring compliance in data privacy laws across multiple jurisdictions. Work closely with theData Protection Officer (DPO)to oversee data privacy and compliance, ensuring that data protection frameworks are robust and regulatory obligations are met.

Team Leadership:Mentor and grow the engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture that aligns with company values and objectives.

Technical Integration Post M&A:Lead the integration of technology and systems following acquisitions, ensuring seamless alignment of infrastructure, processes, and product capabilities as we expand.

What we are looking for:

Strategic Vision:Proven ability to shape technology strategy and drive innovation.

Product Scaling Expertise:Extensive experience in scalable, customer-focused product development.

Infrastructure Management:Strong background in cloud, data security, and scalable architecture.

Leadership Skills:Experience leading high-performing teams with a collaborative, inclusive approach.

Stack Expertise:Experience with our tech stack—JavaScript, Node.js, Typescript, SQL, AWS—is highly desirable.

Achieves More with Less:We are highly focused on profitability and sustainability and looking for someone to maximise the existing resources available and budgeted additional investments in tech.




Must have

  • Prior experience in a CTO or senior technology leadership role in a high growth SaaS/EdTech company.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities

  • Experience with integration of technology and teams post M&A.

  • Strong technical background with the ability to write and review code. Whilst we have a sizeable engineering and product team, it is expected all executives can be hands on when required to effectively audit work quality and maximise output speed

  • Strong delivery record in getting product release on time and budget to a high standard

  • Managing QA to ensure product stability, speed and quality

  • Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS)


Nice to have

  • Advanced certifications, or experience with regulatory frameworks in education technology.

  • Experience managing a remote, global team

  • Experience launching new products is preferable.

  • Experience with balancing direct employees and outsourcing is preferable.

  • Experience with:JavaScript, Node.js, Typescript, SQL
