Trend BMS sites and head-end
Support and deliver quoted works and projects, including:
Replacement of obsolete controllers
Additional works resulting from reactive breakdowns
Integration of standalone AC systems and other plant into the BMS
Engage with UWE stakeholders to ensure systems are reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with energy and carbon reduction objectives.
Carry out system modifications, graphics updates, and controller strategy changes as required.
Act as the main BMS point of contact on site, supporting both reactive and planned improvements.
Occasionally support the wider business on other projects when required. Key Requirements

Experienced Managing on site Health and Safety, writing risk assessments and Method Statements for activities and identifying key risks and working safely.
Strong technical background in BMS engineering with experience across multiple platforms (Schneider EcoStruxure and Trend desirable).
Experience in BMS maintenance, fault finding, and system optimisation.
Understanding of BMS integration, networking, and cybersecurity considerations.
Excellent customer engagement and communication skills - able to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proactive, energetic, and comfortable working across multiple sites with a variety of plant rooms.
A genuine interest in energy efficiency and supporting clients to meet their sustainability goals. What We Offer

£45,000 - £50,000 salary (depending on experience)
Opportunity to lead and shape the BMS strategy across a large, prestigious university estate
Direct engagement with an ambitious client-side energy management team
Varied and technically challenging projects, from day-to-day optimisation to full lifecycle upgrades

Why Cyber Security Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Cyber security used to be viewed primarily as a technical discipline: firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, penetration testing. In the UK today, it’s far broader. Organisations now face complex legal frameworks, ethical dilemmas, human-behaviour risks, communication challenges & usability hurdles. This shift means cyber security careers are becoming more multidisciplinary. From protecting NHS patient records to defending financial services, securing supply chains & safeguarding national infrastructure, cyber security now touches every sector. Employers increasingly want professionals who understand law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design alongside traditional technical skills. In this article, we’ll explore why UK cyber security careers are expanding in this way, how these five disciplines shape the profession, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to thrive in this new landscape.
