Application Security Engineer (Akamai WAF Gitlab) London / WFH to £80k Fixed Term Contract

Opportunity to progress your career as an Application Security Engineer at a global FinTech on a 12 month fixed term contract (FTC).

As an Application Security Engineer you will join a small team that collaborates with software development, infrastructure and business teams to ensure that potential risks are addressed as soon as possible within the development lifecycle. You'll oversee the GitLab development pipeline, ensuring security practices are embedded into a practical shift-left culture; configure WAF and security defences; communicate security across the business and work with development and architecture teams to model threats and security best practices.

Location / WFH:

You'll join the team with a great deal of flexibility (2 days office, flexible start times); when you are in the office you'll be based in the City with an upbeat team environment, casual dress code and a range of facilities including roof terrace and break out areas.

About you:

You have a good knowledge and practical experience with Application Security You have experience with GitLab pipelines and Akamai security software You have experience with threat modelling and automated security testing You're able to read software development languages such as Java, JavaScript You have excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills You are degree educated in Computer Science or similar STEM discipline
