TheSenior IT & Cloud Security Architectplays an essential role in protecting business operations within Avient Corporation, a global leader in innovative polymer materials, services, and solutions. You will participate in several projects that are critical to data protection, vulnerability management, cyber-incident response, asset classification, policy and procedure development, creation of security education newsletters and articles, and more.
As part of the role you will:
·Facilitate proof of concepts to help drive operational enablement of emerging technologies. The outcome should be recommended patterns for adoption or declining use using non-functional requirements for guidance.
·Assist in defining and driving strategic vision for the Cloud environment ecosystem.
·Enable various teams to work within standards by specifying approved tools and technologies.
·Develop and maintain vendor relationships for new and existing technologies.
·Recommend, procure and support educational participation across operations for technical enablement of teams embracing new technology.
·May participate in or supervise embedded teams in larger enterprise projects as required to meet strategic initiatives.
·Determine and prioritize processes for recoverability, fail-over, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
·Participate in specifying operational objectives including SLA's and KPI's for availability, performance and security.
·Proactively suggests and promotes technology and processes that have positive return on investment and deliver value to internal and external customers.
·Determine RTO and RPO objectives and devise strategies for improvement.
·Participate in architectural design with other team members and software architects. Encourage shared and common design practices.
·Provide technical escalation support across the deployed platforms, liaise with development, support, infrastructure, and security as required.
·Provide technical direction and clarification of requirements to software agile development teams, integration, and testing staff.
·May perform other duties as assigned or required by the business.
Education and Experience:
·Diploma or a Degree of Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
·Experience applying architectural frameworks (e.g. SAFe, CSTAR, TOGAF, SABSA, BSIMM).
·A sound understanding of Information Assurance Frameworks. (e.g. CIS, CSA-CCM, NIST, ISO, PCI).
·Good technical knowledge and experience across Microsoft platforms and technologies. (e.g. Azure, Office365, Windows 365, Sentinel).
·Good technical knowledge across different cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, GPC, AWS, SAP-HANA).
·Extensive experience in Networks, Data Centre Systems, and cloud architecture (application, data and infrastructure) – including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS security.
·Knowledge of virtual and physical networking, including routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, IP, IDS/IPS, Encryption.
·Knowledge and experience in performing threat modelling techniques and tooling to drive security-by-design.
·Experience identifying cybersecurity risks and developing proportionate mitigations in solution designs.
·Ability to engage with a cross-section of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
·An ability to make security recommendations in the context of wider business requirements such as efficiency, resilience, and confidence.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·Demonstrate Drive and Passion for cybersecurity and enthusiasm for spreading knowledge across the business.
·Experience with testing and reporting on the security of systems and architectures to ensure requirements are being met.
