Job description
Our Cloud Division are looking for DevSecOps Engineers to join us, building our Google Cloud (GC) capability in an exciting role with progression, training, and development opportunities.
The Cloud Division invests in people and technology to drive the government�s Cloud first policy, delivering digital products and services using commodity Cloud. To achieve this, we embed and pioneer the use of Cloud technologies to drive statistics for the public good.
Responsibilities�
We build patterns and solutions for many projects across ONS and across Cloud vendors. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will be focusing on developing robust infrastructure as code and evolving the ways we work in Cloud.
You will be :
Working on and become a subject matter expert in Cloud, especially Google Cloud. Designing and developing infrastructure as code, source code repositories and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines to execute change on Cloud environments. Working to �secure by design� principles and you�ll help form those designs as part of our multi-skilled teams including security specialists, technical architects, and delivery managers. Working closely with your colleagues in the Cloud Division and the wider technical and business teams and oversee our collaborative Agile ways of working, including setting up and leading on workshops, providing steering on Agile ceremonies, and promoting project management working practices such as Kanban. Coaching and support colleagues in all aspects of the work including non-functional requirements, ensuring availability, security, capacity, and performance for the platform.

Essential criteria
As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, the ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate:
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with the support of their team. Communicate effectively and appropriately within your team and with stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to delivering technical solutions escalating issues when required. Have experience of administering Google Cloud. Familiarity with using Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD and Python
