Overview
We are looking for a Security Apprentice to join our team. You will gain both on the job experience whilst also studying towards a higher level qualification linked to this area.
The role involves being part of the Global Security team, with responsibility for monitoring the company`s networks for security issues, assisting with vulnerability scanning and security incident response.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include
Compliance and Documentation:
Support efforts to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR). Assist in maintaining and updating cybersecurity policies, procedures, and documentation.
Research and Development:
Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies. Participate in cybersecurity training sessions, workshops, and certifications as required.
Vulnerability Management:
Conduct vulnerability scans and assist in analyzing scan results. Help in the remediation of identified vulnerabilities in collaboration with IT and development teams.
Security Awareness and Training:
Participate in developing and delivering security awareness training to employees. Assist in creating educational materials and resources to promote security best practices.
Assist in Monitoring and Analysis:
Monitor security alerts and events using security information and event management (SIEM) tools. Analyze potential threats and vulnerabilities and report findings to senior team members.
Support Incident Response:
Assist in investigating and responding to security incidents. Document incident response activities and help in the preparation of incident reports.
Qualifications
Education:
You’ll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) two A-Levels with a minimum of C grades You’ll also need a minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above) including English and Maths Equivalent qualifications are accepted
Skills and Competencies:
Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices. Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking concepts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges. A resilient and self-motivated individual Good communication skills, able to explain concepts to an audience, active listener and good reporting proficiency. Analytical thinker, breaking down problems into manageable parts, with attention for details and context. Curiosity for learning, proactively seeking clarification, additional information, or support when needed. Able to build strong interpersonal relationships.
