As part of the OLPS, you will be responsible for tracking vulnerabilities in userspace components, with occasional participation in kernel security processes. Most significant and complex vulnerabilities would need to be promptly reproduced and analyzed for impact, demanding good prototyping and analytical skills. Given a wide variety of applications shipped with Oracle Linux and associated programming languages, you will never be bored!
The OLPS team dedicates significant effort to automating vulnerability monitoring and reporting processes, and you will be expected to contribute to this effort on the ongoing basis. Additionally, team members are asked to take part in monitoring for and reporting on security events in the environments belonging to the Oracle Linux organization.
Responsibilities:
Vulnerability monitoring using a broad variety of internal and public sources, such as private and public lists, major distros, and vulnerability databases (. - NVD) Reviewing customer vulnerability reports Analysis of static and dynamic scan reports Ongoing monitoring of internal bugs for security implications Impact analysis for vulnerabilities, both internal and external Assist development teams with reproducing and analyzing vulnerabilities
Must-have skills:
SAST/DAST scanning experience and report analysis Detailed knowledge of CVE processes and CVSS scoring Detailed knowledge of Linux OS components (kernel and userspace) Detailed knowledge of Linux security management and subsystems Prior development experience on any Linux platform using multiple programming languages
