As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer for DWP Mobile Services, you will be a member of a highly motivated team that constantly drives for excellence, delivering world class mobile devices and services for DWP colleagues. Product team has ownership of all aspects of DWP mobile services which includes software, hardware, infrastructure, support, service desk, budget, commercials and resources. Job description
As Lead Infrastructure Engineer for DWP Mobile Services, you will lead the product�s technical strategy from vision through to delivery, to help deliver on key business objectives.
You�ll be a skilled practitioner and an expert in design, build and operations of network and mobile services for large scale organisations. Be responsible for product technical strategy and direction for entire spectrum of enterprise mobile services including device management, infrastructure, apps, hardware and controls.
Working with representatives from across the Department, from operational staff delivering services to citizens through to Director level, technical and non-technical individuals, you must be capable of understanding business and user needs, and translating these into technical solutions, and visa-versa. The role involves leading the safe, secure and productive use of Mobile Devices across the Department and across Government, and successful candidates will need to represent Mobile Devices in various forums as a result.
Your responsibilities are but not limited to:
Ensuring technical solutions being delivered are aligned to departmental and user needs, deliver value for money and are technically stable. Leading on delivering architectural and roadmap developments within mobile services area. You will provide specialist knowledge and experience to input into the wider digital infrastructure strategy and development roadmap. Lead on all technical aspects of Mobile Services product including development, maintenance, security and support. Lead on mobile device management setup and controls to ensure DWP mobile estate is managed securely and meets business needs. Lead on technical evaluation and selection of suppliers� products and services and ownership of ongoing technical account relationship to ensure optimum service delivery for DWP. �� Acting as a major incident manager and escalation point for all service related incidents. Providing specialist service/solution technical support and assistance to junior staff and users.

Expert with the design and implementation of enterprise mobility management software (preferably Workspace One and Intune) to manage mobile devices (running iOS and Android OS) for large and complex organisations. Significant depth and breadth of technical knowledge and experience across infrastructure services, including strong experience with public cloud technologies, cloud hosting, container, and networking design patterns, tools and best practice ( Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform), along with strong understanding of information security, infrastructure as a code and continuous integration/continuous deployment. Technical authoring skills, particularly for the production of technical design and specification documents. Significant demonstrable experience of service management framework like ITIL in a large and complex IT Service Management landscape. Strong leadership skills to lead teams, foster collaboration, and make strategic decisions. Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information to diverse stakeholders and align team efforts with business objectives.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.�
Salary Information
Pay for this role is from �69,869 to �77,740.
The maximum salary for the grade is �77,740, however a Digital Allowance of up to �12,255 per annum is available for exceptional candidates, based on our assessment of your skills and experience.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.
Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.
