OCU Group are continuing on a path of growth into 2025. This has created an exciting  opportunity for an experienced, detailed-orientated and analytical HR Data Analyst to join our team. 

You will be responsible for supporting the collection, maintenance, and analysis of HR and people data. 

This role requires strong attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy. You will assist in generating and maintaining HR reports, dashboards, and data analysis for internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with HR systems, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect, analyse, and interpret HR data related to workforce metrics such as headcount, turnover, engagement, diversity, recruitment related metrics and ESG.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of current reporting and adapt and amend reporting to ensure the reports meet customer's needs
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support HR decision-making.
  • Identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to improve HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Conducting ad-hoc analyses to address specific business questions or challenges.

HR Systems and Data Management:

  • Manage and maintain HR data in systems such as HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems, specifically D365), and applicant tracking systems (ATS. Specifically, Team Tailor), ensuring integrity.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security through regular audits and updates.
  • Collaborate with IT, Data Protection and HR teams to streamline data processes and system integrations.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure reporting is aligned with business objectives
  • Liaise with 3rd party HR systems vendors to trouble-shoot and resolve system data or process queries and support system upgrades/fixes such as HSO.
  • System set up for annual Pay Review and Performance Review processes as well as relevant reporting and assisting internal stakeholders through the process.
  • Coach/train end users to get the most out of the HR systems.
  • Documenting procedures and writing end user guidance notes using software such as Microsoft Scribes.

Strategic Insight:

  • Analyse data to forecast workforce needs and support succession planning.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and Gender Pay Gap by analysing related metrics and trends.
  • Provide insights for optimising recruitment, L&D, performance management, and retention strategies.

Compliance and Benchmarking:

  • Act as the HR team’s subject matter expert on privacy and data protection, particularly concerning UK GDPR. EU GDPR, and other relevant legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and organisational policies.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies to compare organisational metrics with industry standards, such as absence rates, turnover and retention rates.
  • Conduct audits of HR data processing activities to identify risks and potential mitigations, in collaboration with our Privacy & Data Protection team.
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related data incidents, making sure they are reported, documented and escalated to the Group Data Protection Officer.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required data and reports.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with HR leaders, managers, and cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
  • Present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Work with the Group Data Protection Officer to make sure HR data processing aligns with organisational polices and legal obligations.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in HR analytics, data analysis, or a related role.
  • Proficiency with HR systems specifically D365 and Team Tailor and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) as well as Excel.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices and metrics.
  • A good understanding of UK data protection law and privacy principles.
  • Familiarity with data subject access rights.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to various work sites or locations as needed.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours to accommodate operational requirements.
