Our client, a leader in the space sector, is currently seeking a DSP Firmware Engineer to join their team. This permanent position offers the chance to work on pioneering space telecommunication payloads, instruments, and sensors as part of a dynamic and innovative team.

Key Responsibilities:

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers developing space telecommunication payloads, instruments, and sensors
Designing, simulating and implementing digital signal processing algorithms for telecoms and sensing applications
Producing firmware design concepts based on inputs ranging from formal ICD & requirements to a wish list of desired functionalities in a 'blank sheet' system
Producing formal firmware requirements where necessary
Troubleshooting hardware and software for space missions
Maintaining and extending existing products

Job Requirements:

University degree in an analytical or quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or similar)
Experience in signal processing design and implementation
Design and simulation of multirate signal processing algorithms
Proficiency in C/C++ coding for SoC cores and/or vector processors
Experience with VHDL or Verilog
Experience implementing signal processing algorithms on modern AMD/Xilinx SoCs is highly desirable
Understanding of formal configuration control methods
Experience leading design teams is desirable
Familiarity with 5G/LTE radio stacks desirable
Familiarity with radiation mitigation design techniques is desirable
