£60,000-£70,000 per annum

 Hybrid: Minimum of 2 days in the offer per week

The Cyber Security Officer will work across teams, implementing robust security measures, monitoring for threats, and ensuring compliance. Reporting to theSecurity, Risk, and Compliance Lead, you’ll play a crucial role in safeguarding our systems, mentoring junior analysts, and driving security improvements across the business.

What will the role involve?

• Monitoring, identifying, and responding to security incidentsin real time, ensuring swift resolution.
• Conducting internal technical and compliance auditsto uphold security best practices and ISO 27001 compliance.
• Collaborating with teams toenhance security posture, working on risk mitigation strategies and security initiatives.
• Working with key stakeholders toadvocate and implement security measuresacross the business.
• Mentoring junior analysts, and guidingcybersecurity best practices.
• Engaging with customers and auditors to assure them ofSBS’s security standards and controls.
• Supporting ongoing security projects and contributing to the continuousdevelopment of policies, procedures, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

We’re searching for a proactive security professional with a strong technical foundation and experience working in large-scale environments. If you have most of the following, we’d love to chat:

• Proven experienceas a Cyber Security Officer or similar role.
• Experience conductinginternal auditsfor ISO 27001 compliance.
• Knowledge ofcloud security practices, particularly AWS.
• Proficiency invulnerability assessments, risk management, and security hardening techniques.
• Strong understanding ofnetworking technologies, operating systems, and security best practices.
• Experience withsecurity monitoring toolsand identifying/responding to cyber threats.

It would be a bonus if you had:

• Certifications: Comptia Security+, CISSP, AWS Certified Security.
• Experience withRapid7 InsightVM and InsightIDR.
• Knowledge ofsecuring enterprise databases.
• Familiarity withUK financial sector regulations.
